SNOWMASS VILLAGE

About Snowmass Village

Tucked high in the Brush Creek Valley, Snowmass Village, Colorado, is like the shy neighbor who turns out to be vivacious upon closer acquaintance. Within this 25-square-mile town resides over 40 miles of hiking and biking trails and offers one of the best Summer Resort Music scenes in the state. Surrounded by a spectacularly scenic wilderness area, Snowmass is one of the few resorts in the U.S. to offer plentiful mountainboarding terrain and the only Colorado resort to offer two 18-hole disc golf courses. It's no coincidence that part of our name is synonymous with "magnitude" and "substance." And yet Snowmass Village is not your typical mountain town. One need only glimpse the grand splendor of Mt. Daly and the faces of people coming off the slopes year-round to understand that this town's core lies amidst a fertile landscape of adventure and rejuvenation.

Within this 25-square-mile town resides the second largest ski mountain in Colorado offering nearly 150 miles of trails. Snowmass also connects to the largest network of free groomed Nordic trails in the U.S.

Stats lovers take note: Snowmass has the longest lift-served vertical rise in the U.S. and was the first in the country to have a lift operated solely by clean, renewable wind power. Chris Davenport, World Extreme Skiing Champion, says,"the fact is, Snowmass has some of the best steeps, cliffs, couloirs, backcountry, terrain parks, and powder anywhere in North America.

The mountain is our main street, our mecca, our coffee shop, our office. We swap gossip on picnic blankets at the Fanny Hill concerts, catch up as we catch air in the terrain parks and on the trails. While we live here for the sun-kissed summers and for the glimpses of the elk, fox, and deer who share this unique Shangri-la, we're also dedicated to ensuring our guests feel the same. From the wild west to wildflowers to wildly enthusiastic locals, the town lives up to its name.

Snowmass Village is pure mountain town. Steeped in ranching history, defined by its scenic mass, flanked by charming boutiques, restaurants, and accommodations, this town offers more potential for mountain stories than ever before. We invite you to stop by for a visit. Our door is always open and we think you'll find this neighbor is one worth getting to know.

Limelight Lodge: In downtown Aspen, at the corner of Cooper Avenue and Monarch Street, the Limelight Lodge is welcoming guests back after a two-year demolition and redevelopment. This Aspen landmark, only three blocks from Aspen Mountain, has been around since the early 1950s and has evolved and changed over the years, yet it still remains family-owned and operated. The new property pays homage to Limelight’s legacy and its innovative history, while paving the way for the future. In its early days, the Limelite began as a nightclub and dinner theater, drawing a large crowd and hosting performers such as Judy Collins and the Smothers Brothers. Throughout the following decades, the Limelight grew from a popular nightclub into a lodging complex owned by the Paas and Woolery families, who are the hotel’s current owners. The Paas family operated hotels in Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico before moving to Aspen in 1960. They purchased Limelite in 1962 and later acquired several other properties in the area. By 2004, the Limelite was a 110-room complex and in 2005, the Paas family decided to completely redevelop the lodge. The old hotel was razed, and the new Limelight Lodge now stands in its place.

He has served in some of the most prestigious restaurants in the country, from The Ritz Carlton (Chicago) and Spiaggia Restaurant (Chicago) to the The Racquet Club of Chicago and the Game Greek Club in Vail.

Since buying La Tour in 1998, Chef Ferzacca has taken contemporary French cooking to a new level in Vail. La Tour features culinary elegance set in a "chic and trendy setting," according to one writer. As a result, La Tour is known by Vail Valley locals as the restaurant "where the chefs go to eat."

However, Chef Ferzacca's culinary leadership extends beyond his peers. To give back to the industry that he has enjoyed for two decades, he donates countless hours to teaching the art of cooking to high school and college students. As a result, the Colorado Restaurant Association through its Pro Start program, named Chef Ferzacca Mentor of the Year in 2003. His students have taken first place in state competition the past two years in a row, and second place in the national contest, reflecting on the high standards of their teacher. In addition, he has been named a "Distinguished Visiting Chef" at the prestigious Johnson and Wales University in Denver, the first Colorado chef to receive this honor. He has been featured as a guest chef at numerous wine and food festivals throughout the country.

ABOUT THE NRO

A preeminent intensive fellowship that equips young musicians for orchestral music careers while providing the highest level of musical experience for all stakeholders.

The NRO - Nurturing the Future of Music

The NRO performs two full orchestra concerts each week in Breckenridge’s beautiful Riverwalk Center between late June and mid-August. In addition, members of the NRO take part in smaller chamber concerts during the festival, and the full orchestra plays at several other locations in the state. NRO Alumni currently play in virtually every major and regional orchestra in the U. S. and in orchestras world-wide.

THE MUSIC EXPERIENCE

During his 30 years with the National Repertory Orchestra, Maestro Carl Topilow has led the orchestra to the forefront of summer music festival programs. Every winter, Maestro Topilow and distinguished NRO alumni audition more than 800 young musicians from leading conservatories and music schools in the US and Canada. The finest 89 musicians are chosen for an eight-week, intensive, orchestral fellowship and summer residency in Breckenridge, Colorado. The pre-eminent career-preparatory experience for these musicians is the rigorous rehearsal and performance schedule, during which an entire orchestral season—29 concert—is compressed into eight weeks of demanding repertoire. Not only must these musicians play with a whole complement of new colleagues, but they must also perform a wide range of material with only a few rehearsals for each performance. At the end of the summer, they have developed strong skills under pressure and have brought their musicianship to new heights.

A LITTLE HISTORY

Founded in 1960 as the Blue Jeans Symphony in Estes Park, CO, the orchestra moved to Evergreen, CO in 1966 and changed its name to the Colorado Philharmonic. In 1986, the orchestra relocated to Keystone Resort and changed its name to the National Repertory Orchestra in an effort to better recognize the national/international make-up of its musicians. In 1993, the Town of Breckenridge invited the orchestra to perform in the new Riverwalk Center, now NRO’s summer residence.

OVERVIEW

Today's Breathable Air

Today's Breathable Air contains less than 22% oxygen. At one time our breathable air contained more than 50% oxygen. How have our bodies adapted to this change in the most vital nurient required by humans for cell reproduction and growth? The answer is that we have adapted but at a cost.

Living with BetterThanAir™ Oxygen Enriched Products will become as natural in the next few years as buying 'bottled water' is now. In 1975, bottled water barely existed. In fact, when some relatives of mine told me that they wanted to get into the business of selling 'bottled water' I laughed and said 'who would buy something that was free'. Well today our society has certain goals which include 'better health and better living'. However, people of today are under many different and greater stresses.

These stresses are major contributors to illness and disease because of how the body reacts to stress. By developing better breathing capabilities and enhancing the quality of air and water that goes into our body's, people will be able to better manage their stressful lives and they will be more capable of enjoying an active and disease-free lifestyle.

Always remember this true statement 'the body can live for weeks without food; it can live days without water; but the body can only survive minutes without oxygen' !

Back then a short-thin board with a rope attached at the nose, called the "Snurfer", was ridden without bindings. In the '70s the snowboard shape began to evolve, but it wasn't until the early '80s that steel edges and P-tex bases were introduced.

This technology gave the control necessary in all snow conditions and the growth of the sport has mushroomed ever since. But even though the metal equipment and timbers are buried in white, there’s still a sense of the history of this place.

The forested hillside that holds the old mine is a popular snowshoe and cross-country ski area today, attracting crowds on fresh-powder days. But in the late 1800s and early 1900s, it was busy with a different kind of activity, as miners scoured the hills of Summit County for precious

gold, silver, and zinc deposits.

That juxtaposition of old and new is a hallmark of Summit County, where a rich mining history has never been forgotten even as the area has been reborn as a recreational playground.

Today, Summit County, anchored by the historic town of Breckenridge, draws visitors from around the world. Its natural amenities — 300 days of sunshine and 300 inches of snow each year — are irresistible drawing cards.

Visitors ski and snowboard on the mountain trails of a quartet of ski resorts — Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, and Arapahoe Basin. Today, a different kind of riches draw people here — the sparkle of aspen trees and white snow-capped peaks framed by blue skies, and the glitter of snow on some of the most-loved ski mountains in the world.

The Roaring Fork Valley’s well-preserved ghost towns and painstakingly restored historic buildings attract history buffs. The area is also a cultural and sports center. The venerable Aspen Music Festival and Jazz Aspen Snowmass draws talent from around the world. The Food & Wine Classic, the Aspen Opera Theater, and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet all have their own unique appeal. And in the winter, sports take over with the rowdy X Games, the annual Aspen Celebrity Downhill, and quirky events such as the World Polo Snow Championships.

SMILING MOOSE DELI

History

A Delicious History in the (Sandwich) Making

Smiling Moose Deli proudly raised its antlers in 2003, when we opened our first delicious deli in Colorado’s Vail Valley.

Our goal from the very beginning? To provide superior food and unprecedented customer service…with a big side of fun.

Today, five years later, our goal remains the same. With every new day, every new deli and every new dish, we continue to live our philosophy of “work hard, play hard." Our delis are a reflection of our fun and easygoing lifestyle and a place for our guests to feel at home and enjoy a memorable meal.

Fundamental Principles

At Smiling Moose, our core values ensure the highest level of enjoyment for each and every one of our guests. The Fundamental Principles upon which we operate are:

    * Infusing a certain lighthearted informality that creates a fun atmosphere. We don’t want to ever take ourselves too seriously or be too fancy for our own good. After all, our stores are very busy and it’s a demanding job, a little humor and fun goes a long way.

    * Offering a comfortable environment for our guests to relax, unwind and enjoy a good meal — like they would at home.

    * Becoming a part of the community. We always run our stores as local restaurateurs; in fact, our managers and crews live in their communities, know their guests by name, and participate in local activities.

Commitment to Quality

What’s a fun atmosphere and community involvement without a great product? The key element to our success is our commitment to the highest standards of quality.

    * We serve our guests full, hearty portions, so no one leaves hungry.

    * We use the freshest ingredients we can find, and prepare them daily.

    * We make it like you would—homemade. Our products are handcrafted to the highest standards of excellence. It takes more time, but we think you’ll notice the difference.

    * We provide value to our guests through our fair prices, fresh foods, abundant portions and daily specials.

    * We celebrate our customers with Free Cookie Wednesday. Of course, we bake them fresh, just like mom!

    * We provide a whimsical menu featuring many options so our guests have their choice of fresh breads, veggies, meats, cheeses, soups, salads, beverages and much more
